High Power Filters
Filters are frequently required to withstand high power, in passband, stopband or both. Such filters may be required to provide non-reflective stopband characteristics in cases where the transmitter is sensitive to reflected power. Because high power filters are instrinsically low loss devices, they may be also utilized in situations where the lowest loss is of prime importance. RS Microwave has developed some unusual techniques for the construction of high power filters. For example, we have developed bandpass filters in the 960 to 1213 MHz range that can meet 1.3 KW peak, 200 watts average power to 78,000 feet. These filters provide stopbands with continuous rejection to 10 GHz. We have supplied waveguide filters in the 16 GHz range with a 1 KW average power handling capability. We have built tunable high power diplexers with average power in the 20 KW range, tuning from 5.9 to 6.4 GHz. We have developed band reject filters with the ability to withstand high peak power in the stopband region.
